Help us put your leftover pumpkins to good use! Join us at Gentry Homestead for our annual Pumpkins for Pigs event—a fun and sustainable way to recycle your fall decorations while giving our pigs a healthy seasonal treat.
🐖 Why Pumpkins?
Pumpkins are a natural dewormer for pigs and are packed with nutrients that support their overall health. Our Kunekune pigs enjoy them fresh, soft, or even rotten—just make sure they’re free of paint or Sharpie!
We accept:
•✅ Carved or whole pumpkins
•✅ Mushy, soft, or rotting pumpkins
•❌ No pumpkins with paint, glitter, or Sharpie
🐷 What to Expect
•Hayrides to the pig pasture
•Toss your pumpkins and feed the pigs
•A family-friendly experience full of farm fun
Bring your pumpkins, hop on a hayride, and enjoy the chance to interact directly with our heritage pigs as they munch on their favorite seasonal snack. It’s an unforgettable hands-on experience for all ages!
📦 Large Donations Welcome!
We accept bulk pumpkin donations from:
•Local pumpkin farms & orchards
•Fall festivals or businesses
•Garbage companies and townships
If you’re coordinating a large drop-off or need pickup assistance, please email us at [insert email here] to make arrangements.
🌱 A Greener Way to End the Season
Let your pumpkins nourish the land instead of filling landfills. This community tradition brings people together, reduces waste, and helps us care for our animals in a meaningful way.
